So, I got a new laptop yesterday (17/06/13) and have windows 8 on it, and I tried installing sims 2 expansion packs however, it is not letting me it is saying that TS2UPD.exe has stopped working then it terminates. What do I do to get them to work?

The original sims 2 disc has installed with no problems - it is. Sep 21, 2008 What is the function of the 'TS2UPD' files in the sims 2? I have files TS2UPD0 to 7. Nd it shows error during update when i run them. Sims Discussion Sims2 Sims 2 and Windows 10. But as Answers is a good way too Ill help you as best I can:) It seems that it could be the disk of the expansion pack, particularly one of the files on the disk that was installed possibly not being compatible with Windows 8. Here's what I found: - Numerous sites containing the same common problem with W8.

I would think about The Sims 3 instead with it being newer. Although I did find this video offering help on skipping the TS2UPD.exe file installation, whether it will manage without it properly or not, I cant really help there. One last thing I found is that according to the compatibility centre, certain EP's aren't compatible.

TSBin TS2Upd.exe - Open for Business This has been posted before, I know, but I'm having the same problem on my totally clean copy of TSO. I can install University and Nightlife.

I tried installing OFB first before Nightlife and get an error A problem occurred when trying to transfer the file 'D: TSBin TS2Upd.exe' from the media. I tried copying it directly from the CD and I get the CRC error. Does anyone have any ideas to evade this problem with a one year old CD with no receipt to exchange the game other than purchasing the $30 copy again?
