So if a game doesnt pass the check the publisher loses money. So they are forced to alter it so that it gets a rating.

If the game gets checked and dont pass they need to send in another 'updated' version they have to pay the USK again and to avoid that most publishers send cut versions first to save money and just get their rating even through the uncut version may have passed the test. The ratings are sometimes realy insane there was a game once that received absolutly no rating @ all so the publisher gutted theyr game so hard it jumped instantly from no rating to 16 wich is absolutly ridiculous. It is sad that so many people still paying for the cut versions of their games, to end this insanity every cut game should just be boycotted in germany and just importet for something to change.
